An Open Letter to Supporters and Friends of the Equestrian Community

To Supporters and Friends,

The weekend of September 17-19, 2010 will mark the third annual Plantation Field International Horse Trials. Due to the tremendous support from elite equestrians, sponsors and the local community, our event has more than doubled in size within the first two years. We are improving our facility, planning on building a permanent arena, continuing to keep our grounds in first-rate condition and partnering with a respected local charity to help fund their programs.

This prestigious competition in the sport of eventing, one of the three equestrian disciplines represented at the Olympic Games, is considered the ultimate horse and rider triathlon. It requires jumping, galloping and precision movements both in an arena and over a series of challenging obstacles on a cross country course. Plantation Field International Horse Trials offers a spectacular venue to view this thrilling sport as competitors gallop across vast acres of pristine countryside in the heart of Chester County.

Last year, the Plantation Field International Horse Trials attracted over 1,200 spectators and competitors to participate in this world- class event - one of only a handful of internationally sanctioned events anywhere in the US. The excitement and elegance of this crowd pleasing event benefits sponsoring businesses. The Plantation Field International Horse Trials (PFEE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and a portion of our proceeds benefit The Barn at Spring Brook Farm, a nonprofit organization in Chester County that provides free animal-assisted therapies for children with disabilities. You can learn more about this wonderful organization at www.springbrook-farm.org .

Not only does the Plantation Field International Horse Trials offer exciting equestrian sport, it is also a fun day out for the whole family. With our Kids' Corner activities, a trade fair with shops and food, a sponsors tent centrally located at the Main Arena, the parade of Mr. Stewart's Cheshire Fox Hounds and our ever-popular celebrity Hi- Jump exhibition, there is something for everyone.

We greatly appreciate your consideration of the enclosed sponsorship information and look forward to discussing your participation in this year's event. We look forward to seeing you in September!

Sincerely,

Plantation Field International Horse Trials Executive Committee

2010 Plantation Field International Horse Trials

Plantation Field International Horse Trials was developed by lifelong horseman Denis Glaccum on the property of Mr. and Mrs. Cuyler Walker in the beautiful horse country of Unionville, Pennsylvania. Plantation Field International Horse Trials, which will take place September 17th through September 19th, 2010, is an internationally recognized sporting event attracting elite equestrian athletes in the sport of eventing.

Often referred to as the triathlon of the horse world, eventing is a true test of horsemanship, comprised of three varied and challenging phases: dressage, cross-country jumping and show jumping. Eventing is a sport rich in equestrian tradition, reflecting the countryside lifestyle inherent to Chester County. Plantation Field International Horse Trials embodies these traditions and brings to life the richness of equestrian sport. Only a handful of two- and three-star level competitions are held each year in the United States. As a result, the CIC*** at Plantation Field is an exciting opportunity for riders to compete
at the highest level of the sport.

This year, Plantation Field has paired with a wonderful local charity called The Barn at Spring Brook Farm . A portion of proceeds raised from the event will be given to The Barn, which is a non-profit organization providing free animal-assisted activities for children with disabilities. The Barn is a beautiful facility in Chester County with a small herd of child-friendly animals, including miniature horses, donkeys, sheep, goats and rabbits. The organization provides a safe, caring environment with activities designed for children with disabilities to receive physical therapy and participate in animal care and interaction to gain knowledge, confidence and self-esteem.

Plantation Field International Horse Trials will be a perfect day in the country for all ages and provide a wonderful showcase for this special charity. Come meet the animals and staff of The Barn at our event’s petting zoo located in the Kid’s Corner activity area on Saturday.
